Merry Christmas!

Yes, I realize it's a little late, but better than never right? No? Well damn...

Anyhoo, for those wondering what is going on in the celtichorn productions world, (sounds of crickets) I am now starting work on rating the submissions for the fifth installment of the Honor Guard Halolympics.

The common question I have been getting is that it is much more difficult than the previous installments. You see, while trying to stay true to my motto of "difficult but doable"

I too may have strayed a bit in my attempt to make the courses more challenging to get the absolute best for an upcoming project.

However, rest easy for as of today I have several entries of players who have really torn this course apart and have done it in record times! So if you’re having difficulties, don't hesitate to ask for advice or keep trying until you get it down, remember you only have to get it right once...

Anyhoo, part of the reason I was sort of non-existent for the better part of December was that I was working on a project for my future brother in law and I really wanted to put everything I had into it. And although it didn't come out exactly as I had envisioned it, I would say it was a success.

Now here is the kinda, sorta, maybe interesting news, I made a Christmas special.....yeah I know it's after Christmas and everyone and their mother has made one and mine is probably sub-par at best.

Honestly, I made it as a present for my characters real life counterparts and was supposed to be just for them, however I was thinking about it and, it does involve almost everyone in the HGvsDT universe so maybe it should be posted.

It would have been posted by now, but as you know, I have to place music in it that won't get the video taken down.

In my opinion it takes away from the fun nature of it, but I feel it is important to post as it is a part of the universe, but I think for those that are familiar with the series will enjoy it. It's also a standalone piece that doesn't have any weight on the actual story arc thus far.

Arighty, well other than that, look forward to some (hopefully) fun changes for 2010 and more HGvsDT, HG Kill-A-Thon, and HG Halolympics vids.

-me

P.s. For those asking why I don't submit my videos to machinima.com, it isn't because I don't like them, but simply that I don't feel like my style is same as theirs. Maybe one day, but definitely not in the horizon as of now, laters!

Good and Inadvertantly Bad News! :) :(

Well hello there fellow Halolympians!

I have some great news that unfortunately has put quite a twist in the halolympics schedule. First let me be clear and state that the HG Halolympics will continue and will forever be a Celtichorn Productions front runner. At the moment however, I have been commissioned by a third party to work on an important project.

Exciting? Yes, Distracting? Yes!

To that end the fifth installment of the HG Halolympics will come out very soon, but just not on October 27th as I had projected! This however works in your favor as you will be allowed even more time to finish the course for the fourth installment, I will continue to accept submissions until a more definitive deadline has been announced!.

Thank you all for your support and be on the lookout for the next installment!

See you next time

Funny stuff.

Hello all!

I am now going through the process of reviewing all the submitted Halolympics 3! Next Monday October 5th I will be watching House, and also releasing the 4th installement complete with a few fan ideas!. Thank you for all your support you guys are awesome.

Now, I seem to be having a slight misunderstanding about my HGvsDT series, I have received a few e-mails from some kids asking if my character "Jon Skeye" is based on Jon Graham from machinima.com.

The answer is "no" Jon Skeye is based on my brother who was in high school the JROTC Honor Guard Commander. The rest of the cast Brandon, Julian, Tip and Chase are all based on my friends who were also in the Honor Guard and April is based on herself as well. One day I will sit down and write some extra details to my small fan base that is watching the series (which will continue shortly, I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off.) Thank you for those that are watching the series, all the kind words and I hope you will enjoy my future work.

Ideas for Halolympics 4

Hello fellow Halolympians!

I hope you all are having a good time running the third installment of the Honor Guard Halolympics, if you haven't received a confirmation message from me yet, no worries if you sent it I got it.

Now on to more important matters...

I will be accepting any and all ideas for the 4th installment of the HG Halolympics, the way I want this to work is fairly simple. If you have an idea..

1) Make it in Forge and save the map to your file share.

2) Send me a email to hgvsdt@hotmail.com

3) Include a link to your map on your file share, and in the subject line put Halolympics 4 Idea

4) Put a brief description of how to run this part of the course

and that's pretty much it.

Now here are a few tips for giving your idea the best chance to come out on the next HG Halolympics.

1) Make it challenging but not too difficult (i.e. grenade jump to the column and then grenade jump to another column and then a back flip)

2) Try to explain how to do the obstacle in two sentences or less, in other words don't make the challenge sound complicated when it could be summed up somehow. (i.e. fall down the hole while shooting at the wall and landing on the teleporter, but before you do that make sure you shoot the fusion coil on the warthog but before that drive it to the fusion coil..yeah) a better way would be more along the lines of "shoot the fusion coil before falling into the teleporter"

3) It doesn't have to be the Mona Lisa, meaning that if it doesn't look like much, but it's challenging and fun, then send it in. It doesn't matter if it looks really well made and then turns out to not work.

4) Have fun while doing it, if you are having fun with it chances are other people will to, so my advice here is to just mess around and have fun with the Halo 3 forge engine you never know what you might come up with while just screwing around *cough* el bandito *cough*

Thanks for reading this and I hope this answers the questions of all those wanting to help out with the next HG Halolympics. If I decide to use part of your design I will credit you accordingly with the new course. Enjoy!

Halolympics Update

Hello fellow HG Halolympians! Just wanted to say that the competition is still going strong and it's getting really exciting to see people tearing it up.

As promised, the time to beat as of now is dun dun dunnnnnn "1:12" I know this can be beat, personally I know this can be beat.

Secondly, I just finished touch ups on the second course for the August 3rd release, don't quote me on this, but I might be looking for some course testers...hey I said don't quote me! But if I do find myself thinking my course needs a 2nd, 3rd, opinion.....all I can see is be avaliable and you might be invited to a custom game to test out the course before it's release.

That's all for now! Happy Lymping!

Halolympics Update:

Fellow Halolympians! Just wanted to clarify a few things as a result of a bunch of messages that I have been receiving on the matter. I am not an employee of bungie nor have I ever been, granted I am also a nerd in love with their work but a non employee nonetheless.

To that end I must also remind you that I offer you a mention in my second Halolmpics video with highlights from your winning course run. I do not, nor have I ever had the authority to destribute the Recon Armor, (I myself have yet to attain such an honor)

I hope no one has been mislead, and I encourage you to still gain a spot amongst the veterans of the HG Halolympics and competition aside, hope you more importantly have fun!

Good Luck!

Fellow Halolympians!

Fellow Halolympians lend me your ears! ..ok no to the jokes? alright. Just wanted to say that I am going over a massive amount of videos at the moment, which is exciting as hell so keep 'em coming.

Right now there is a massive thunderstorm outside and it's already kicked out the electricity once, (thank God for laptop batteries) so there might be a slight delay in the reviewing of your submissions, but rest assured if you sent one, I have it and you will receive a confirmation from me asap. Thanks again for playing and hope to catch you online

-Pat (Celtichorn/Caranyx)

HGvsDT Ep:8

I uploaded "All Talk" again, it's not completely where I wanted it to be but it's alot better than the last one, or at least I thought so. Whatever, also I was able to expand the window size so that its not this tiny little box that you have to pull out your grandmother's reading glasses to see. Enjoy - Pat (Celtichorn)

Update: All Talk Repostponed

It may sound kind of lame, but I was watching the latest episode of HGvsDT and was just not happy with it...at all. So I pulled it down and am going to work on it some more hopefully getting a better picture quality and just remove some stuff entirely. Sorry for the inconvience for anyone who's been following this small series I can promise you though that I will get it back up asap. Thanks - Pat (Celtichorn

About Celtichorn

Well, it has occurred to me that I have never really introduced myself. I figured this might be an issue given that I am randomly throwing out videos and having a lot of fun making them. My name is Patrick or Pat, I also have been known to go by Celtichorn. Celtichorn is basically a name I picked up as a kid, I was made aware of my Irish heritage and everything about it was just awesome to me. Also, it’s another name for a Celtic Demon known as Carnyx, (Where as my xbox live gamer tag is caranyx I changed it a bit). To be honest I am more infatuated with watching other people’s videos than my own.

I figure I made mine, I know what type of messages and symbols I am trying to make but I like to know what makes others tick. I am just fascinated with any types of cinematography and I don’t really care if it’s a totally ridiculous movie because I am more interested in why certain directors chose to do the scenes they did, you know the “why did they do that angle? What emotion are they trying to convey? How does that progress the story?” I’m betting the first time anyone sees any of my stuff it looks almost identical to everything else that is out there, but to be honest this is more of a fun pastime hobby to me rather than people’s odd obsession with wanting to show themselves being blown up all the time and in different ways.

The whole “Honor Guard vs. The Drill Team” series was inspired by a long standing joke I had with me and five of my best friends when we were all back in high school ROTC. In the series the antagonist is named Sgt. Major named after one of our Army Instructors because he was in charge of another division of the ROTC called the Armed Drill Team. My friends and I were on the “Honor Guard” or saber team and we and they had a healthy rivalry. I use the videos to kind of reminisce those old days and pick fun at both of us. I will have to say this though Sgt. Major was practically my hero in high school, I never met anyone so selfless and self sacrificing to his job as he was, and although I use him as the main antagonist in reality he is possibly the coolest man I’ve ever met. Well hopefully if anybody actually reads this you have gained a small insight as to the vids I make. I will probably update with more background info like this for the heck of it.
